With the assistance of Happen Houston, we recently purchased our dream home in the Tanglewood area of Houston. Our search proved to be rather lengthy due to the highly competitive Houston housing market, our desire to be in a specific area, and we were doing it long distance from out of state in Indiana. Our agent Kristen was outstanding. She consistently kept us informed via email, text and phone when potential properties meeting our criteria came on the market. Kristen was recommended to us by a family member on a recent move from CA to TX. Our initial meeting with her was in December/25 and then after our house in CA went under contract, we flew to Houston in February/26 to accelerate our search. Kristen did her homework, visiting in person all the communities where we found homes (single story only) that we felt would be a good fit and made suggestions for other home builders and communities she thought would work for us as well.
As we were out of State for most of the process, Kristen acted as the face of our transaction from start to finish. She was attentive to detail, communicated very professionally with various builder's sales reps and guided us through the home purchasing process in a way that reduced the stress of a long distance transaction. We appreciated how Kristen did the walk through on the new home in our absence, pointing out a number of the items that needed to be corrected prior to moving in. She was supportive after closing, visiting the home a number of times, recommending contractors and coordinating some upgrades that we wanted to make after the house closed.
I should also point out that she also has a keen eye for the financial part of the process, finding a potential error on the initial Settlement Statement that resulted in a nice credit in our favor that was missed by the builder.
All in all, it was an excellent experience and we would not hesitate to recommend Kristen to family, friends or anyone else who is planning on making a move into the greater Houston area.
